The Board of Directors of the British Columbia Restaurant and Foodservices Association (BCRFA) on behalf of the restaurant industry congratulates Premier Christy Clark on the Liberal government re-election. The restaurant industry, which is crucial for a healthy British Columbia economy, looks forward to continuing to proactively work with Premier Clark and her new cabinet to maintain our strong partnership and create economic growth. We are determined to expand our industry. With over 170,000 employees, 12,000 restaurants and 2,000 suppliers, we want to develop a strong economy and industry together with the Clark- led Government. Our industry is both a barometer of entrepreneurship and youth employment and we know that the Liberal government’s goals are aligned with the industry. We look forward to ongoing participation in ways to streamline business productivity, improve the economy, and provide input to government on growing our sector. Hall of Fame - Nominations Now Open
The restaurant scene in BC is one of the most outstanding in the world in terms of diversity, unique concepts, exceptional food quality, excellent wine, professional service and value for the customer. Over the years, the innovation and dedication of many significant individuals has contributed to this. Each year, selects individuals are inducted into The BC Restaurant Hall of Fame. These esteemed individuals have been recognized for their dedication to the industry and their numerous professional and personal accomplishments. The BC Restaurant Hall of Fame recognizes the inductees at a Gala induction dinner, held in the fall of each year. Long term, all inductees' names and photos will forever stand in the permanent home of the BC Restaurant Hall of Fame located at the Centre for Excellence and Innovation in Hospitality; at the Vancouver Community College downtown Vancouver campus.Nominations for this year's Hall of Fame will be accepted until May 1st, 2013. Vancouver's street food options expand again this summer: 15 new trucks to bring the total to 114

The city's fifteen new food trucks will offer everything from Belgian waffles to Filipino fusion to French crepes and pastries on Vancouver's streets this summer. The new vendors will begin operations this month and once fully-operational, will be among the 114 stationary food trucks on Vancouver's streets.
